    • John Stitzer Holter (1877 to 1946):

      Don't know much anything about his early life except that he seemed too restless. He worked at the hotel serving drinks but he didn't drink. None of the children drank. We had cider and whiskey in thehouse all the time but none of the children drank.

      He finally got married and moved to Johnsonburg, PA, where they had two daughters. One, Margaret went to Bucknell University. The other one, Marion got married early and had a large number of descendants. She lives in Johnsonburg, PA. John worked for a paper mill. Then things go so bad in Elk Coounty that they selected him Sherriff to clean things up. This he did and then went back to the paper mill.

      He was a gegntle sort of fellow and was liked by everyone. He married a second time.
