- Gertrude B. Harter, 96, of Susque-View Home, Lock Haven, formerly of Jacksonville, died at the home Tues. (Jan. 8, 1991) at 7:45 p.m. She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Jacksonville. She was a member of Jacksonville Grange and Pomona Grange. She was born in Howard Twp on Jan. 29, 1894, a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Rachel P. Thompson Confer. She was married on Oct. 7, 1914 to Willard C. Harter, who died in 1945. She is survived by one son: Charles of Castanea; one sister: Relda P. White of Beech Creek; two brothers: Russell D. Confer of Milesburg and Serge C. Confer of Julian RD; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, Howard, on Sat. at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jack D. Archer officiating. Burial will be at Jacksonville Cemetery, Jacksonville. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sat. from noon until time of services.
