- Beulah DeArment Weight, 81, of Howard, passed away at home early Monday morning, Sept. 14, 2009.
Born March 3, 1928 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of Beulah M. Foss and Harry B. DeArment. On May 3, 1947, she married Homer G. Weight. He passed away on Nov. 29, 2006. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Howard (formerly St. John's Evangelical United Brethren Church), the Howard Women's Civic Club and the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Beulah graduated from Howard High School. She dedicated her life to her husband and family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Shirley Ann Gates and her husband, Sam; her daughter, Carolyn Lorraine Montgomery and her husband, Bob; and her son Jeffrey George and his wife, Jody, all of Howard; two brothers, Robert and Donald DeArment; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Following her wishes, there will be no public visitation. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Jacksonville, with the Revs. Jack and Leatha Archer officiating. Friends will be received at the church for one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Howard Fire Co., P.O. Box 276, Howard, PA 16841.
