- Pauline Frances Leathers, 78, of Howard Township, died Jan. 27, 2003, at her home. She was born Dec. 10, 1924 in Blanchard, to the late William and Mae DeLong Eaton. She married Clarence Coffey, now deceased, in 1942, and Jerry T. Leathers on Feb. 23, 1946 in Howard. She is survived by her husband and four children, Sandra Rhoades of Howard, Paula McDanel and husband David of Fombell, Jerry Thomas Leathers and wife Francene of Camp Hill, and Natalie Nodianos and husband Dale of State College; five sisters, Betty Morasco of Flemington, Isabelle Rupert and Anna Wink, both of Lock Haven, and Lorraine McAulay and Gloria Gardner, both of Howard; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She attended Liberty Baptist Church in Blanchard. She was a social member of the Howard VFW and a founding member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Although she worked outside of the home in several capacities, she was first and foremost a dedicated and loving wife and mother. Her concern, thoughtfulness, and sense of humor will be fondly remembered by a large circle of family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Neff Funeral Home, Howard, on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Stephen Hicks officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Centre Home Care and Hospice, 2437 E. College Ave., Suite 6, State College, Pa. 16801.
