Mrs. Kate M. Gordon, wife of Elmer Gordon, died quite suddenly at their home near Pleasant View on Sunday, Feb. 2, 1913, at three o'clock in the afternoon. Mrs. Gordon suffered a stroke of paralysis earlier in the day and sank rapidly until the hour of her death, which came as a severe shock to her family and friends. Mrs. Gordon, whose maiden name was Miss Kate M. Gordon, a daughter of Daniel and Mary Gordon, was born at Clintondale, June 4, 1865, and hence was aged 48 years, 7 months, and 29 days. She was united in marriage to Elmer Gordon in 1884 and during their residence in this vicinity she won the regard of a large circle of friends who mourn her death. She leaves her husband, Elmer Gordon, and five sons: Daniel, Benjamin, Elmer, David, and Howard. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Samuel Gordon, Mrs. William Hassinger, Daniel Gordon, of Bellefonte; William, of Columbus, Ohio, and Mrs. Mary Isenburg, of Huntingdon, Pa. Funeral services were conducted in her late home on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, by Rev. C.W. Winey, pastor of the United Brethren church. Burial was made in the Treziyulny cemetery, Milesburg.
