- Mildred J. (Millie) DeHaas January 9, 1940 March 19, 2015 Mildred J. "Millie" DeHaas, 75, of Howard, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015, at her home. She was born in Howard on January 9, 1940, a daughter of the late Joseph I. and Louise P. Confer Leathers. On August 3, 1968, she married Charles S. "Bud" DeHaas. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2012. Millie was a 1957 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. She worked for Corning Glass for 27 years, retiring in 1999. She enjoyed camping and attending the Grange Fair and staying at home in her robe and shopping on QVC. Her greatest enjoyment came from the time she spent with her family. She is survived by two sons, Ronald J. (Deb) Fye, of Duluth, Minn. and Patrick M. DeHaas, of Lock Haven; three daughters, Robin (John) Lyons, Roxanne "Snook" (Bill) Shreffler, of Howard and Rochelle "Shelly" (Kerrie Bodle) DeHaas, of Bellefonte; 20 grandchildren, Joe, Ben, Sam, Jen McCubbin, Max, Paul, Weston, Mary and Jackson Fye, Heidi (Brad) Hockenberry, Zachary Sayers, Cole and Cody DeHaas, J.J. (Jessica) Lyons, Chelsea (Michael) Williammee, and Ron Lyons, Shawn, Dillon and Jarrett Shreffler, Nicholas and Nathan DeHaas-Way; two great-grand- daughters, Jilline Lyons and Addalynn Fey; and one great-grandson, Haidyn Hockenberry. Also surviving Millie are a brother, Joseph Leathers, of Howard; and a sister, Elizabeth "Betty" (Bob) Catherman, of Milesburg. Along with her husband and parents, Millie was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda "Weasy" Fye, who died on February 26, 2000. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2015, 6-8 p.m. at Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 23, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Alan S. Eckenroad officiating. Burial will be at Eagle Cemetery, Boggs Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Home Health Nursing Agency Foundation, 701 Chestnut Ave., P.O. Box 352, Altoona, PA 16603. The family would like to thank the loving care that Ron Lyons, her grandson provided to her during her final months on earth.
