    • Helen S. Frank, 88, went home to be with her Lord and join her loving husband on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, at Susque-View Home, where she had resided since June 2007.

      Helen was born in Clintondale on May 26, 1922, the daughter of Clifford and Lola (Armes) Shilling.

      At age 12, she moved to Loganton to become the foster daughter of Chauncey and Pearl Royer.

      For the next 73 years she resided in Loganton. She graduated from Sugar Valley Vocational High School as valedictorian of her class in 1940. She remained active in the Sugar Valley School Alumni Association and for many years was a member of her class reunion committee.

      Helen was united in marriage to James S. Frank on Feb. 5, 1941 in Loganton Evangelical Church. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past February.

      For much of her life, Helen was a homemaker, raising her children and caring for family members and friends.

      In 1972, Helen returned to school and earned her Licensed Practical Nurse license at Centre County Vocational School. She spent the next 25 years doing private duty nursing assignments throughout Clinton County.

      Helen always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and always cooked a meal for her visitors.

      She was active in her church - Albright United Methodist in Loganton. She taught Sunday school for many years and served on numerous boards and committees. She was a member of the united Methodist Women.

      Helen always had a smile and words of cheer for all she met and enjoyed sharing her home canned goods and homemade food with all.

      She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth K. Shilling and a sister Kathryn "Jean" Shilling Hard. Helen also was preceded by her husband, James S. Frank, who passed away on Feb. 15 of this year.

      She is survived by a daughter, Joan Frank Lamey and her husband, Jerry of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.; grandsons Brian and Chad Lamey and great grandchildren Jarred and Lindsey Lamey, all of Tennessee. She is also survived by a son, James D. Frank and his wife Nancy and granddaughters, Allison Frank and Ashley Frank Porr and her husband Joshua, all of Harrisburg; her brother and sister-in-law Leonard and Harriet Shilling of Bellefonte, three nieces and one nephew.

      The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2011, in Albright United Methodist Church, 47 E. Main St., Loganton, with Pastor Brenda Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Loganton.

      A visitation will be held in the church from 11 a.m. until the time of services Saturday.

      If desired, memorials may be made in Helen's name to the Albright United Methodist Church, Shirley Miller, 3505 Narrows Road, Loganton, Pa. 17747.
