- LOCK Haven - Sarah J. SCHENCK, 72, of Howard died Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999 in the Lock Haven Hospital. Born Sept. 25, 1927 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Ruth SCHENCK KLINE. She was a graduate of Lock Haven State Teachers College. She and Edwin M. SCHENCK were married Oct. 15, 1966 in Howard. She was a teacher at Bald Eagle School District from 1948 until her retirement on June 27, 1989. A member of the Howard United Methodist Church, she belonged to the United Methodist Women. She served as treasurer for the Centre County Women’s Christian Temperance Union. Her other memberships included the Howard Civic Club. She was also the secretary of Schencks Cemetery, for many years. She loved cats and cows, In addition to her husband, she is survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Announcement Interment 27 October 1999, Schencks Cemetery, Howard Twp.
