James F. Peters August 10, 1941 July 2, 2014 Our brother, James F. Peters, 72 passed away on July 2, 2014 at Centre Crest, Bellefonte. A life long resident of Wingate. James was born in Lock Haven, on August 10, 1941, to the late Philip and Agnes Schenck Peters. Jim was a 1961 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. He was a veteran, having served in the US Army. Jim then worked a number of years for Penn State at the Garfield Water Tunnel. Jim went from Penn State to the Bald Eagle Area School District where he retired after 35 years. He enjoyed all types of sports. His biggest joy was collecting and displaying model cars and trucks. He was able to give you facts about each one. Jim could be seen on a daily bases riding his bike to B.E.A. for work, the local Sheetz for a newspaper or to Stover's Tea Room for a refreshment. He is survived by two sisters, Catherine Crossley, of State College and Shirley (Kenneth) Howell, of Runville; one brother, Donald (Makata) Peters, of Milesburg; Patty Walk (niece), his faithful nurse and caregiver; and many other nieces and nephews. We will miss him. The services will be private and at the convenience of the family with Rev. Barbara E. Mosch, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 123 S. Sparks St., State College, PA 16801. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, 201 Spring St., Milesburg.
