Fred W. Bechdel Sr., 70, of Beech Creek, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born in Lock Haven on Sept. 17, 1942, he was the son of the late Leroy and Edith Berry Bechdel.
He graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1960.
On June 8, 1963, Fred married the love of his life, the former Ellen Hanley, who survives at home.
Fred was an avid sportsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. He loved sports and especially enjoyed watching and following the Phillies and Penn State as well as the local sports teams.
Along with his wife, Fred is survived by one son, Fred W. (Robin) Bechdel Jr. of Howard; two daughters, Wendy Bechdel and Cindy (Danny) Greendoner, both of Beech Creek; one brother, Duane (Patti) Bechdel of McElhattan; one sister, Sarah (Joseph) Martin of Fla.; two grandsons; and two granddaughters.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Beech Creek Wesleyan Church, 217 Main St., Beech Creek.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
