- Jerry T Leathers, 97 of Howard, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center. He was born in Mt. Eagle on November 11, 1917, a son of the late Justice "Jack" & Cora Dietz Leathers. On February 23, 1946 he married Pauline Francis Eaton, she preceded him in death.
He was a graduate of the Howard High Class of 1935.
Jerry retired from Cerro Brass after many years of service. He was a Methodist. He proudly served his country as a Coxswain in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Medusa during the 2nd World War serving in the Pacific Theatre.
He was a life member of both the Howard VFW and the Beech Creek American Legion. He enjoyed hunting.
Jerry is survived by three daughters; Sandra L. Rhoades of Howard, Paula L. (Dave) McDanel of Fombell, and Natalie J. Nodianos of Irvine, Ca., one son; Jerry T (Francene) Leathers of Camphill, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister; Alice Heverly, and two brothers; Joseph & Ralph Leathers.
Private services at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Stephen Hicks officiating. Burial will be at the Schencks Cemetery, Howard with military honors.
