- Martha E. Confer, 91, of Bellefonte, passed away Monday, October 8, 2012, at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte. A daughter of the late John S. Leathers, Sr. and Julia (Bitner) Leathers, Martha was born on September 18, 1921, in Bellefonte. She was married on March 15, 1941 to Albert Confer, who preceded her in death on December 11, 1971.
She attended Bellefonte Area High School and retired from Centre Crest as a Dietary Aide. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, Bellefonte.
Martha is survived by one daughter, Lisa Meyer and her husband Vaughn, of Bellefonte, one sister, Blanche Rittmiller of New York. Also surviving are five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Martha was preceded in death by one son, Albert Confer, Jr., one daughter-in-law, Sandy and one granddaughter, Patti and ten brothers and sisters.
A public visitation will be held on October 13, 2012, from 8:30 -11:00 am, at Faith United Methodist Church, 512 Hughes St., Bellefonte, PA 16823. Funeral services will immediately follow visitation at the church, at 11:00 am, with Reverend Andrew Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Meyer Cemetery, Benner Township.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service Inc., Bellefonte.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Faith United Methodist Church.
