- Raymond Randolph Decatur, 71, of Fredericksburg died Friday, Oct. 3, at Mary Washington Hospital of cancer.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Carline Haney Decatur of the home; and two daughters, Raylene Decatur-Kundts of Denver and Carmond Robbins of King George County.
Mr. Decatur served on the Fredericksburg City Council from 1983 to 1988. He also served on the Planning Commission, RADCO and the Tri-County/City Soil & Water Conservation District.
He retired in 1978 after a 35-year management career with the Navy Department.
He was an active member and past president of the Fredericksburg Host Lions Club and was a member of the Fredericksburg Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Fredericksburg Cotillion.
A funeral will be held 7:30 p.m. on Monday at Fredericksburg Baptist Church.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Fredericksburg Host Lions Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Robert Cadow, 1106 William St., #922, Fredericksburg, Va., 22401; or the Fredericksburg Baptist Church, 1019 Princess Anne St., Fredericksburg, Va., 22401.
