  Martha A. Bowers: Mrs. Bowers, 89, of Box 256, Huntingdon RD1, formerly of Bellwood, died at 11:45 a.m., Friday, Aug. 10, 1984 at the home of her son, Michael. Mrs. Bowers retired from the Altoona Hospital kitchen staff.She was born Aug. 18, 1894 in Greenwood Furnace, the daughter of Joseph Grant and Anna Mary (Sager) Pletcher, and Dec. 16, 1916, in Cumberland, Md., married Joel Bowers, who died Feb. 9, 1973. Surviving are five children: Michael Grant of Huntingdon Rd 1; Joel of Tonawanda, N.Y.; Catherine Hand of Altoona; Jane Bricker of Penn Yan, N.Y.; and Betty Hirsch of Montgomery, Mich,;30 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Predeceased by one son, Robert William Bowers in 1927. Also predeceased by siblings, Anna, George, Ernest, Aurella, Matilda Harvey, Grant and Joseph. Also surviving is a sister, Elvira Kennedy of Bellwood. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood. BOWERS--Services for Martha A. Bowers of Box 256, Huntingdon Rd 1, formerly of Bellwood, will he held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, by Rev. Kim K. Cowher. Interment in Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
