She was born in Lock Haven on November 19, 1927, the daughter of the late William C. & Eleanor Mann Mapes. On September 8, 1948 she married Samuel H. Kunes who preceded her in death on July 17, 1997. Dot was a graduate of Howard High School and the Pittsburgh Beautician College. She was a owner & operator of Dot''s Beauty Salon in Howard for approximately 40 years. She is a member of the Howard Christian Church Dot is survived by one daughter; Shelly Kunes Spearly of Bellefonte, two sons'' Kimberly S. Kunes and wife Cindy of Howard, Toby W. Kunes and wife Linda also of Howard, she was preceded in death by a sister Janice Letterman. She is also survived by one granddaughter; Meecha Lyn Bechdel and two great-grandchildren; Kirin & Elli. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Centre Crest Nursing Home, 502 E.
