- Paul V. (Andy) Bechdel March 26, 1928 - December 20, 2011 Paul V. (Andy) Bechdel, 83, went to be with the Lord in the presence of his family on Dec. 20, 2011, at his home in Howard. He was born March 26, 1928, to Fred and Mabel (Confer) Bechdel. He was married to Berniece (Fisher) Bechdel, on April 4, 1949. Paul worked for Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven for 33 years. Then ran parts for Victor Auto Parts in Blanchard for 13 years. He was an avid member and supporter of the Howard Area Lion's Club and an active member of Curtin United Methodist Church. Paul is survived by his wife of 62 years, Berniece M. Fisher Bechdel, five children, Sandy Bechdel and her two children, Kristine and Jason Deitz, Donna (Bechdel) Martin and her husband, Steve, and their two children, Troy and Chastity Martin, P. Dennis Bechdel and his son, Cameron Bechdel, Charles Bechdel and his son, Chazzy Bechdel and Chet Bechdel and his wife, Cora Lee (Nyman), and their two children, Jason and Tara Bechdel; nine great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Betty Bechdel Barnyak, of Philipsburg. Paul was preceded in death by seven brothers and five sisters. Friends will be received on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at The Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at Curtin United Methodist Church, 305 Curtin Village Road, Howard. Services will be Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at 11 a.m., at the church with Pastor Peter Dittman officiating and Mr. Daniel Schreckengast is assisting. Burial will be at Schencks Cemetery, Howard.
