Sara B. Long, 82, Howard
Sara B. Long, 82, of Howard, died July 24, 2006 at the Mount Nittany Medical Centre, State College, Pennsylvania.
She was born November 25, 1923 in Bellefonte. She was the daughter of the late Mac A. Bryan, Sr. and Hazel B. (Aikey) Bryan.
She was a 1941 graduate of the Bellefonte High School and a 1944 graduate of the Germantown Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She worked as an operating room nurse at the Bellefonte Hospital.
On May 10, 1947 in Bellefonte, she married Robert H. Long, who survives at home in Howard.
Sara was a member of the Saint Johns United Methodist Church of Howard, the Howard Civic Club, the Bellefonte Chapter of the American Red Cross and was Judge of Election for Howard Boro for many years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Robert A. Long and wife Deanna, Thomas M. Long and wife Patti, and Jeffery B. Long; five grandchildren, all from Howard. She is survived by two sisters, Phyllis B. Rhoads and Polly Ann Mensch both of Bellefonte.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Mac A. Bryan, Jr.
A memorial service will be held, Friday, July 28th at 10:30am at the Howard United Methodist Church, West Main Street in Howard
