- Paul Daniel Thompson, 86, formerly of Howard, entered into rest at 10:25 a.m., Monday, October 27, 2014, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. He was a resident of Riverview Manor, Lewisburg, since April. He was born June 4, 1928, in Howard, a son of the late Charles Roy and Catherine (Holt) Thompson. In June 1953, he married the former Mary Louella Orr, who survives. Paul honorably served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated Thompson Excavation, Howard. Earlier in life, he worked at Cerro Metal Products, Bellefonte. Paul was a member of the Howard V.F.W. Post 8269, the Beech Creek American Legion Post 623, and the Wildcat Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, watching the Philadelphia Phillies, and Penn State Nittany Lions football. Surviving in addition to his wife of 51 years, are four sons and three daughters-in-law, Larry and Carol Thompson, of Shepherd, Mont., Steven and Barb Thompson. of Corning,N.Y., Wayne Thompson and (companion) Jane, of Huntingdon, and Karl and Angie Thompson, of Huntingdon; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna and Douglas MacLean, of Centre Valley, Judy and Tom Ebeling, of Philipsburg, and Amy Ferguson, of Mifflinburg; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Earl Thompson, and Arlin and Sharon Thompson, all of Howard; one sister, Florence McClure, of Milesburg; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Sheldon Thompson, Martha Rosamilia, Leonard Thompson, Lola Thompson, Gladys McKivison, Lee Thompson, and Dean Thompson. Funeral arrangements will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial gifts may be made to the Riverwoods Benevolent Fund, 270 Ridgecrest Circle, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
