- Jerry E. Confer, 76, of Bellefonte, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Centre Crest Nursing Home.
He was born in Howard on Jan. 31, 1935, a son of the late Walter Lee and Goldie Baith Confer.
His wife, the former Margaret A. Ishler, survives at home. They were married on Dec. 31, 1954.
Jerry was a heavy equipment operator for Marblehead Lime for 23 years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending the Grange Fair.
Surviving are a daughter, Sharon (Denny) Herman of Centre Hall; four sons, Gary (Jaci) of Bellefonte, Terry of Milesburg, Timothy (Vicky) of Pleasant Gap and Thomas (Sandy) of Howard; three sisters, Evon "Bonnie" (Ernie) Truckenmiller of Salem, Utah, Virginia Vanemon of Bellefonte and Betsy (Nick) Stamotakos of Glendale, Ariz.; one grandson and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Philip, James and Joseph.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at Kader-Neff Funeral Home, Howard. The Rev. Nancy Kuhns will officiate. Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery in Marion Township.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31.
