- Beulah M. Neff, 87, of Howard, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024.
Born on Feb. 12, 1937, in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Ethel (Klobe) Quiggle.
On July 30, 1955, she married her loving husband, the late W. Robert Neff, who preceded her in death in 2010.
Beulah loved the Howard community and was deeply involved in many ways to better her community. She was a member of the Howard United Methodist Church for over 60 years, a past Matron of Order of Eastern Stars former chapter #350 for over 50 years and a member of the Howard Civic Club. She was on the Howard Borough Election Board for seven years and she was in the Sugar Valley Historical Society.
In addition to helping her husband own and operate the Neff Funeral Home, Beulah was a real estate agent and had her paralegal certificate from Penn State.
In her spare time, she loved to cook and bake. She was known for her apple dumplings at the church bazaar. She liked sewing, quilting, going to the Grange Fair and watching deer and birds on her property.
Beulah’s pride and joy was her family. She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly A. (Robert) Nielsen, of State College, and Toni M. (Roger) Dagen, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a son, Steven R. (Brenda) Neff, of Millheim; a son-in-law, Greg Dyke, of Howard; nine grandchildren, Jonathan (Kayla) Neff, of Spring Mills, Lyndsey (Shaun) Greenland, of Pa. Furnace, Chelsey (Buck) Gates, of Millheim, Lauren (Mark) Small, of Mechanicsburg, Michael Ortenzio, of Camp Hill, Andrew Ortenzio of Denver, Colo., Kaiden (Darren) Aungst, of Lewistown, Makennah (Nate) Cleaver, of Howard, and Madison Dagen (Ryley Breon); and 13 great-grandchildren, Casen, Delaney, Crew, Maci, Leah, Claire, Tatum Mae, Hunter, Rhett, Ridge, Reid, Harrison and Emerson.
In addition to her husband and parents, Beulah was preceded in death by her daughter, Marla Sue Dyke; a brother, Floyd Quiggle; and a sister, Mary Grieb.
Family and friends will be received for a time of visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, 2024, at the Howard United Methodist Church, 144 W. Main St., Howard.
Funeral services will take place at the church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, with Pastor Craig Rose officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Schenck’s Cemetery.
