- Anna M. Confer March 3, 1926 - March 11, 2010 Anna M. Confer, 84, a resident of Centre Crest for the past nine years, formerly of Howard, died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Centre Crest. She was born March 3, 1926, a daughter of the late Norris and Anna Shay. On Nov. 23, 1946, in Howard, she married Robert W. Confer, her husband of 48 years. He died Dec. 30, 1994. Anna was a 1944 graduate of Howard High School. In her earlier years she was employed with Piper Aircraft and Sylvania until she started her family. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, Howard. Anna enjoyed helping with fire department dinners and campaigning for G.T. Thompson. Before her illness, she loved playing bingo, church functions, word searches, day bus trips, spending time visiting on her front porch, attending Grange Fair and traveling west to visit her grand kids. She is survived by a daughter, Debra Sneathen (Donnie), of Gillette, Wyo., son, Michael L. Confer (Robyn), of Howard, sister-in-laws, Lois Shay, Blanch Ickes and Ruth Bowes; brother-in-law, Robert Day; six grandchildren, Gavin (Darla) Sneathen, of Laramie, Wyo., Shea (Kristen) Sneathen, of Twin Lakes, Wis., Hannah (Justin) Hillius, of Gillette, Wyo., Ryan (Jayme) Confer, of Austin, Texas, Brandon (Paige) Confer, of Jacksboro, Tenn., and Dyann Confer, of Howard, and one great-grandson, Baylon Sneathen, of Laramie, Wyo. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Shay in 2005, and agrandson, Dustin Sneathen, on Jan. 21, 1982. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Schencks Cemetery, Howard Township. Memorial contributions can be sent to Howard United Methodist Church, P.O.
