- Sarah Alice Heverly, 80, of Howard, died, Monday, Jan. 30, 2006 at her home.
She was born Aug. 12, 1925 in Mt. Eagle, the daughter of the late Justus and Cora Dietz Leathers.
She married John Edward "Foxy" Heverly on Sept. 23, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1983.
She was a 1942 graduate of Howard High School.
Sarah worked at Woolrich in Howard and Blanchard and retired after 25 years of service.
She was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Howard where she was the church organist for many years.
Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Lucas of Hastings, Neb. and Julie and Tim Stem of Howard; one son, Curt and Jan Heverly of Howard; one brother, Jerry T. Leathers of Howard; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Carla and Jonathon Heverly, Lacy and Leslie Stem, Amy Andrus and Tracy Lucas.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006 at the Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main St., Howard. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at the Main Street United Methodist Church, Howard. The Rev. Valerie Stedman will officiate. Burial will be at Schencks Cemetery, Howard Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church, Main and Grove Streets, Howard, Pa., 16841.
