Ruby L. Leathers March 12, 1921 - January 20, 2010 Ruby L. Leathers, 88, of Howard, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at Lock Haven Extended Care. She was born in Howard Twp. on March 12, 1921, a daughter of the late Donald Hewitt and Elizabeth P Vonada Confer. On Dec. 30, 1941, she married Joseph Franklin Leathers, who preceded her in death Jan. 6, 1984. She was a member of Howard United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was in United Methodist Women. Ruby was a member of the Howard Civic Club and enjoyed reading and crafts. She is survived by three daughters, Coralee Patterson (Pat), of Williamsport, Susan Moshier (Samuel), of Ironia, N.J., and Laurie Handy (Steven), of Uniontown, Pa.; two sons, Randall J., of Howard and Mark E. (Tammy), of State College; one brother, Gene Confer, of Howard; seven grandchildren, James, Randy, Christopher, Todd, Matthew, Tricia, and Kristen; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, from 1:30-3 p.m. at Howard United Methodist Church, 144 W. Main St., Howard. Funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at the church, with Pastor Craig Q. Rose officiating. Burial will be at Schencks Cemetery, Howard Twp.
