June Alberta Cupples Wolf October 2, 1921 - December 15, 2008 June Alberta Cupples Wolf, 87, long-time resident of Howard, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College after a brief illness. Since January 2007, she had been a resident at the Eagle Valley Personal Care Home in Milesburg. She was born Oct. 2, 1921, in Osceola Mills, a daughter of the late Edward Blair Cupples and Jennie Bell Shoff Cupples. She was married to Richard K. Wolf, a native of Howard, who survives her and currently resides at the Eagle Valley Personal Care Home. She is also survived by a son and three stepchildren, namely, Dr. Barrett L. Cupples, of Kingwood, Texas, Kline R. Wolf, of Howard, Patricia Dixson, of Rochester, N.Y., and Marcia Jan Rutherford, of Reston, Va. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The next to the youngest of 11 children, she was the last one surviving at the time of her death. Although she spent most of her youth in Osceola Mills, she graduated from Philipsburg High School. She was employed for 30 years by the Houtzdale Wholesale Produce Co., where she served in various capacities. Until 2006, she and her husband spent the winter months in Florida, where in recent years their address was in Orange City. In addition to her love for her family, she loved football, especially Penn State football. For several years, she, with her husband and friends, followed the team around the country each autumn as well as attending most of the home games. A cherished memory was of their visit to New Orleans for the 1983 Sugar Bowl in which PSU defeated Georgia to win its first national championship. A memorial service is planned for the springtime at the United Methodist Church in Howard, where she was a member. Her remains will be interred at the Schenck Cemetery near Howard. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist churches in Howard and Osceola Mills and sent to the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, P.O. Box 108, Howard, PA 16841.
