- Rachael Coder Yarnell December 18, 1927 January 27, 2019 Rachael Coder Yarnell, 91, of Pleasant Gap, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at AristaCare at Hearthside in State College. Born in Howard, on December 18, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Nancy (Schenk) Coder. In 1946, in Boalsburg, she married her beloved husband, Edward Roy Yarnell, who preceded her in death on May 12, 2015, after sharing 68 years of marriage together. Rachael was a graduate from the Walker Township School and Williamsport Beauty School. After a long career, she retired from Murata Erie in State College. Rachael is survived by two children, the Reverend Doctor Jerry A. Yarnell and his wife Pamela, of Canton, Mich., and Patty Eckenroth, of Pleasant Gap. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Kristy Yarnell Klein (Chris), of Manassas, Va., Jeremy Eckenroth (Christina), of Boston, Josh Eckenroth, of Pleasant Gap, Zachary Eckenroth, of Milesburg, and Joseph Eckenroth (Emily), of Lewistown; five great-grandchildren, Harrison, Joshlynn, Tarryn, Ella and Julia Eckenroth; and a very special nephew, Timothy Metz (Barbara), of Fort Washington, and their children, Katrina and Timothy. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Yarnell; a granddaughter, Stephanie Yarnell Lee; five sisters, May Pletcher, Lucy Kyle, her identical twin Rebecca Metz, Jeanette Klein, and Mary Palo; and one brother, Paul Coder. She was a member of the St. Mark Lutheran Church in Pleasant Gap. She loved to tent at Grange Fair and watch the people. She was an avid fan of Penn State football, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Pittsburgh Pirates. There will be a public viewing held on Thursday, January 31, 2019, from 10-11 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church at 160 N. Main Street, Pleasant Gap. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Kevin Shock officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Rachael will be interred next to her husband of 68 years at Zion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rachael's memory to St. Mark Lutheran Church, 160 N.
