Raymond F. Rohlfing, 82, of rural Howard County, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove, Mo. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Immanuel United Church of Christ in New Franklin, Mo. Burial with military honors will follow the service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin.
Raymond was born May 5, 1924, in Fayette, Mo., the son of Gustav and Elda Uthlaut Rohlfing. He married Barbara Coleman on May 14, 1948, in Pilot Grove. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Rohlfing was a life-long farmer, raising Angus cattle, which the family exhibited at the Missouri State Fair and other fairs, hogs and row crops. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ of New Franklin. He was a dedicated husband and father.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Coleman Rohlfing, of their current home in Boonville; a son, Alan Rohlfing and wife Linda of St. Charles, Mo.; three daughters: Mona Sander and husband Joe of Boonville, Debbie Esser and husband Marty of New Franklin and Lisa Hirlinger and husband Kenny of Boonville; two sisters, Esther Biesemeyer and Irene Biesemeyer, and a brother, Alfred Rohlfing, all of New Franklin; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
