- Coach Baxter Carter Weber of Dover died on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at home, surrounded by family. He was 78.
Mr. Weber was born in Bellefonte, PA on July 28, 1933 to the late Balser Weber and Catharine Pringle Weber. He graduated from Howard High School and received his BS degree from Lock Haven State Teachers College in 1959.
Mr. Weber was a Physical Education teacher and coach for 30 years, at DAFB High School, Smyrna High, and Middletown High. He also coached at Wesley College, Delaware State College and was the head coach of the Dover Destroyers semi-pro football team. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of The Cross Church of the Nazarene in Dover, and Past-President of the Towne Point Civic Association.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Margaret "Peg" Wolf Weber of Dover; 2 daughters, Pamela A Chunko and (Rick) of Dover, and Beth Weber Miller and (Mark) of Milford; son Bret C. Weber and (Nancy) of Felton; and 5 grandchildren, Jacy Chunko-Turck and (Ed), Lindy Scott and (Ryan), and Brandon, Brennan and Blake Weber.
The family would also like to recognize and thank the following: Marian from Absolute Home Health; Charles, Cahlisha, Donna, Paulette, Jill and Nicole from Seasons Hospice; Dr. Fernando Pagon, Barbara and the rest of the staff from the Neurology Department at Georgetown University Hospital.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 25, 2011 at 6 pm, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 East Lebanon Rd., Dover. The viewing will be from 3 pm to 6 pm prior to the service. Interment will be at the family's convenience at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
