  Rev War: Private, Cumberland County Militia John Hall came to Bellefonte from the State of Delaware in 1797 at the request of James Harris, one of the co-founders of Bellefonte. He built a house and the first blacksmith shop on what is now Spring Street. He was a member of the Legislature from 1801 - 1806 and one of the first trustees of Bellefonte Academy.
