  J. Calvin "Spider" PLETCHER, 61, Howard Tp., died at his hom e, April 6. He was born Sep 26, 1903 at Blanchard, s/o Hayes and Mabel BATHURST PLETCHER. In 1925 he married Ruth DeVINNY, who survives with four children, James F., Lock Haven; Joseph A., Bellefonte; John M. and Ann H., both at home; a foster Daughter, Mrs. Janet DAUGHENBAUGH, Howard; father, step-mother, two brothers, Eldred PLETCHER, Altoona; Allen PLETCHER , Lake Park, Fl; sister Mrs. Mary SALISBURY, Beech Creek; and a half-brother, Paul of Blanchard; 15 gr.ch. He attended the Church in the Valley, Milesburg, and was a member of the Men's Bible Class. Member of the Howard Fire Company. He was active as a band leader for most of his life and in recent years directed his own group known as "Spider's Little German Band" He was a member of the former Wetzler's Senior Band of Milesburg. Burial Church of Christ Cemetery, Blanchard.
