Dear David;
I live not too far from Sand Creek in Dunn County. When I get a chance to go to Menomonie, I will try to check out the Dunn
County Court House for information as Sand Creek is in Dunn County. However, it borders a couple of other counties. I will
be going back to a regular schedule of confirmation runs to Sand Creek on weekly basis with my daughter and some
neighbors, so I can check the New Hope Church in Sand Creek. Three churches merged several years ago and all the
records from the three are kept in Snad Creek. I can also check the cemetery.
For now, I go to Barron County, one of those neighboring
counties I mentioned earlier, several times a week. Where Dunn County is arranged chronologically and then with some
alphabetical, Barron has there records set up alphabetical
and that makes it much easier to check out surnames. The only record I found for Letteer ar any close spellings was a
marriage record for Maude W. Letteer and Henry Steven Fuller, they were married 3 Aug 1902 at Sand Creek Dunn
County by W. F. Bradley Deacon, witnessed by James Fuller and Frank Fuller. Maude's parents were Sydnna (hard to
read) and Ester Ann ? Steele, born Sand Creek, white.
Henry parents Charles J. Fuller And Julia E. Leffingwell,
farmer, residing Dallas, born Dallas, white. Barron County vol D page 445
I am not sure how familiar you are with Barron and Dunn County. Dallas is located in Barron Co. Where are you from this
area and have you visited this area? If I can be of further help, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Mary Peterson
