  Gordon Earl Confer, 76, of Howard, died Monday, March 4, 2002, in Centre Community Hospital. He was born Aug. 25, 1925 in Howard Township, the son of Michael Earl and Eva Leah Schenck Confer. He was married to Anna Grace Pletcher on Jan. 30, 1949 in the Howard United Methodist Church. She preceded him in death on July 8, 2000. Funeral services will be Friday, March 8, 2002, at 11 a.m., in the Howard United Methodist Church, Main Street, Howard. The Rev. David Trostle will officiate. Burial will be in Schencks Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard. There will be a Lions Club memorial service at 9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
