- Jane B. (Downing) Borelli, 77, of Red Rock, died Wednesday evening, July 15th, 2009 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born September 27, 1931 in Red Rock (Fairmount Township) she was a daughter of late Oscar and Ivah (Bonham) Downing.
Jane had last worked in the cafeteria for Clear Brook Lodge. Prior to that she had been employed by the Buckhorn Truck Stop for many years.
She attended the one-room school in Mossville and then graduated from Huntington Mills High School in 1949.
Jane was known for her creativity and for being so artistic. She enjoyed being a homemaker and was noted for her wonderful baked goods, especially, her homemade bread.
Surviving are her two daughters: Janeen Conyngham of Noxen and Seenie Marie Borelli of New York. Also surviving is her beloved granddaughter, Zora Jane Low of Jamison City.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gary A. Borelli as well as two sisters: Irene Dalto and Elizabeth Brooks.
"Aunt Jane" will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephew, Barclay Brooks and his wife, Jackie; Cathy Fox and her husband, Fred; Christy Snyder and her husband, Tom, and their children. "Gram" will also be sadly missed by the many friends and neighbors who enjoyed their visits with her on the mountain.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 23rd, 2009 at 10 AM at the Mossville Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., Benton.
