Belmira (Medeiros) Oliver-DeCosta, 80, of New Bedford, died Tuesday, Dec. 16. 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Frank Oliver.
Born in Little Compton, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Maria (Leite) Medeiros. She had lived in Rochester, Westport and South Dartmouth before moving to New Bedford three years ago. She was a communicant of St. Mary Church in South Dartmouth.
Mrs. DeCosta was formerly employed as a home health aide for various local health service providers.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her main concern in life was being a caregiver to all her family, relatives and friends.
She leaves a daughter, Ann Marie Guinen of Rochester; a son, Frank Oliver Jr. of Westport; four grandchildren, Stephanie Morais and Scott Guinen, both of Freetown, Todd Oliver of Westport, and Jennifer DaRocha of England; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Eleanor Cabral of Westport, Emily Borges of Bristol, and Louise Faria of Little Compton; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of many late siblings.
Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, in St. Mary Church, followed by burial in St. John Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.

She was the sister of many late brothers and sisters.
In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated, and her funeral was private.
Her funeral Mass with cremated remains will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at St. Mary Church, followed by burial of cremated remains in St. John Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd.
