- Ruth Reiber Wolf February 6, 1916 - October 27, 2012 Ruth Reiber Wolf, of Reston, Va., formerly of Howard, died at the age of 96, at Tall Oaks of Reston. She was born Feb. 6, 1916, in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of the late William A. Reiber and Della Bartges Reiber. She lived in Howard until she joined a diplomatic family in Washington, D.C. in 1974. She supervised the operation of the home and served as hostess and receptionist until her retirement in 2002. She was a member of Saint John's United Methodist Church of Howard. She was the church organist and taught Sunday school for 30 years. She was a member of Crystal Springs Rebecca Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, Order of Amaranth and White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was the first president of Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary of Howard, a member of the Howard Civic Club and coordinator of Howard Girl Scouts and Brownies. Mrs. Wolf is survived by two daughters, Patricia Wolf Dixson, of Rochester, N.Y. and Marsha Jan Wolf Rutherford, of Reston, Va.; one son, Kline R. Wolf, of Howard; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. As she wished, no public funeral service will be held.
