Howard, Pennsylvania - Mary Virginia Stolz, 97, of Howard, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 17, 2022, at the Eagle Valley Nursing Home in Milesburg. She was born on December 26, 1924, the daughter of the late Thomas G. and Laura C. Williams Stolz.
She attended the Howard School and graduated from Howard High School in 1942. Starting in September 1942 she attended Lock Haven State Teachers College, now Lock Haven University. She graduated August 1945.
She received a contract and started teaching in Bellefonte Area District School. She taught sixth grade one year; then taught fourth grade the remaining 34 years. She retired in Jun 1980. She was also the registrar for Bob Neff and Curt Kader at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home for many years.
Mary and her friend, Dot Bixel (also a Bellefonte Teacher) traveled to the West Coast numerous times to visit friends and relatives, experiencing many enjoyable sights along the way.
Mary lived in the house where she was born and lived there her entire life.
She was a member of the Howard United Methodist Church, AAUW and the Howard Fire Company.
She is survived by many cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard with Pastors Craig Rose and Robert Bixel officiating. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Schenck's Cemetery, Howard
