Mr. and Mrs. James A. Bonham observed their 50th wedding anniversary on September 23 with an open house celebration at their home in Benton. Mr. and Mrs. Bonham were married September 23, 1888 by Rev. G.W. Sterigero. Four children were born to this union, all of whom are living, as follows: Mrs. Ethel Harrison, of Hazleton; Mrs. Ivah Downing, Mrs. Florence Larish and George R. Bonham, all of Benton. There are eleven grandchildren. Mr. Bonham, before marriage was Edith Inez Hirlinger, and the guest of honor was Mrs. Huldah S. Hirlinger, Mrs. Bonham's mother, who observed her 88th birthday last January. The house was decorated with a profusion of flowers. A varied program was enjoyed, including folk songs of yester-year. In the evening, the couple were treated to an old-fashioned drumming. There was a shower of beautiful gifts - including money, china, linen, cut-glass and a purse of fifty dollars. A buffet luncheon was served to the following guests: Mrs. Huldah S.
