- Charlotte (Woomer) Allison passed peacefully at her home in Marsh Creek, Pa., on May 8, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Allison; her daughter, Judy (Allison) Spangler; and her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son, Steven; her grandchildren, Josef, Jacque, Garrett, Karen and David; and her great-grandchildren, Jesse, Kachina, Rachel, Riley and Aurellia Charlotte Marie.
Charlotte was born Oct. 14, 1925 in Orviston, Pa., but shortly thereafter moved to Marsh Creek. She attended Howard High School.
She started working early in life working for Bobbie Brooks, Piper Aircraft, Sylvania and Murata Erie.
She was a dedicated mother and took great care of her house and feeding everyone.
She and her husband, Richard, were very active within the Lions Club community.
She attended the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church for more than 50 years and was a member of their Ladies’ Aid society, every year helping to make the apple butter and bean soup the church is famous for.
Charlotte loved to travel and would willingly go on a road trip any Sunday preferably to eat out at a restaurant with fried chicken (her favorite meal). In fact, when dating, she expressly told Richard to only buy her trips, never flowers. Over the years together, they went to Disney, Hawaii, Canada, California, the Holy Land, among dozens of other places.
A funeral or memorial will not be held. At her request, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or you can schedule a road trip with your loved ones and visit a restaurant off the beaten path.
You were very loved and will be very missed.
