Howard, Pennsylvania - Leon Eugene Marshall, 89, of Howard passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born on January 28, 1934, he was the son of the late J. Frederick and Ethel I (Overdorf) Marshall. He married the love of his life, Faye Pletcher on Aug 17, 1958.
Leon was a 1951 graduate of the Walker Twp. High School. He worked for Penn State University as a Soil Chemical Research Assistant, retiring in 1996 after 40 years.
Leon was a member of the Howard United Methodist Church and was a trustee for many years, a 50-year member of the Bellefonte Masonic Lodge #268 and the Howard Area Lions Club, as well as being a 40-year member of the Howard Borough Council.
In addition to his loving wife, Faye, Leon is survived by his sister Rosalie Wilson, sister-in-law Gale Marshall, 6 nephews and 1 niece.
Along with his parents, Leon was preceded in death by Robert F Marshall and Shirley M Boone.
Family and friends will be received for a grave side memorial service at 10:30am on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Schenck's Cemetery. Pastor Craig Rose will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Leon's name may be sent to the Howard United Methodist Church, Howard Fire Co., or a charitable organization of your choice.
