  Obituary	Velma Rae Pletcher, 83, of Snow Shoe, formerly of Howard, passed away Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003 at Susque View Nursing Home, Lock Haven. She was born in Blanchard on Sept. 12, 1919, the daughter of the late William H. and Julia S. Kline Holter. On Jan. 13, 1946 in Blanchard, she married William Nathaniel Pletcher, who died Dec. 12, 1974. She was employed by Sylvania of Mill Hall and was a cook for Roadway (Bestway) in Milesburg, Howard Elementary School and Red's Snack Shack in Howard. She enjoyed watching TV, especially sports, and doing crossword puzzles. She was of the Methodist faith. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, William Nathaniel, Jr. and his wife Bonnie of Milesburg, Malcolm Ray, and his wife Louise of Snow Shoe, and with whom she resided, and Janice Lou Johnson and David of Lock Haven. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Melissa M. Noll of Port Matilda, Jennifer L. Kinley of Milesburg, David A. Tuttle II of Mill Hall and Travis N. Johnson of Avis; and six great-grandchildren, Jacob and Miranda Noll, Kyle and Kayleigh Kinley, and Zackery and Zander Tuttle. She is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Carter of Savannah, Ga. and Julia Packer of Blanchard. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Lewis; three brothers, Merrill Holter, Leonard Holter and Earl Holter; and a sister, Violet Rittenhouse. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2003 at Schencks Cemetery in Howard with Lay Pastor Catherine Dittman officiating. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Neff Funeral Home in Howard. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Snow Shoe United Methodist Church.
