  Born on Wednesday of Easter week in April 1703 and baptised shortly thereafter. She became converted to the Moravian faith during the time the Herzers were at Allemangel and in the summer of 1749 was admitted to the congregation in Macungie.

  [S177] Raymond E Hollenbach, Moravian Church Records, 1973, p 47 (Reliability: 3). BARBARA HOLDER d. Dec. 21, 1777. She was a daughter of Andrew and Cathrin Volk and was born in Durnstein on April 17, 1708. She was baptized as an infant in the Lutheran religion and came to America with her parents in 1709. She was married in March 1722 to John Holder. In 1747 when Brother Herzer was living in Allemangel, she was converted and in the summer of 1749 she was admitted to the chruch in Macungie. This venerable pair lived together for 55 years. They had 12 children, most of whom are living, 39 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, in all 48. For some years she and her husband lived together in a little house which their son-in-law, John Everett, built for them where in their old age they could enjoy sabotical [sic] rest. She has been a tender mother to her children, a faithful wife and helmate to her husband, and the joy of her heart was her Saviour and his congregation. She was taken ill with a shivering cold and died on the 21st, buried in our burying ground at Gnadenhutten on the 23rd.
