- Shirley M. Boone, 85, of Graystone Court, Bellefonte, passed over to paradise on Friday, July 15, 2022.
She was the first daughter of the late Frederick and Ethel (Overdorf) Marshall and was the third of four siblings, Bob Marshall (Gail), Leon Marshall (Faye) and Rosalie Wilson (Jay).
The wife of the late Manley D. Boone, she is survived by her son Edward (Rusty) Boone (Dianne) and two grandsons, Aston D. Boone and Adam M. Boone.
A lifetime resident of Zion and Bellefonte, she and Manley grew up as neighbors on adjoining farms in Walker Township. They wed in 1968 and built their home on the Boone family farm. Together they nurtured their beautiful home with its lawns, gardens and fruit trees. She loved her rose garden the best. Always delighting in finding another new color to add to her masterpiece.
Employed in the medical field her entire career, she was a country girl at heart enjoying sewing her own clothing, canning from her garden and making soup with her friends at church. Her pride and joy were her grandsons. Never has a love run so deep.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 22, at 11 a.m. at the Faith United Methodist Church, Bellefonte with Pastor Terry Daugherty officiating.
