November 8, 1931 - March 28, 2022 Pennsylvania - Doris Mackey of Howard, formerly of Monument, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 28, 2022 at home. was born on November 8, 1931 to James and Isabelle Confer. August 25, 1956, she married Dean "Tracy" Mackey, Sr. who preceded her in death on July 27, 1995. The two of them had 6 children together: a daughter, Karen (William) Kyle, and sons: Dean, Jr., Dennis (Robin), James (Tammy) and Tracy (Sherri) who survive and a son, Richard who preceded them in death on February 23, 1969 at the age of 5. grandchildren were the light of her life. Her legacy will live on through Wesley and Leslie Lomison, Sydney Hunt, Dena Bower and Brad, Ashley, Tyler, Katelyn, Tiffany and Kara Mackey as well as her great grandchildren: Kaleb and Kamdyn Lomison, Kaidyn Rogers and Theo and Willow Hester. was born the 17th of 21 children. One brother, Robert, survives in Tacoma, Washington. Her other siblings: Danny, Edith, Ella, Lester, Goldie, Taylor, Glenn, Walt, Bill, George, Ernie, Betty, Thelma, Ruth, Roberta, James, Jr., Helen, Richard and Jerry have all gone on before; and we are sure they were present for the grand reunion. love of family also extended to her pastor and family as well as her church family at the Orviston Bible Church. loved people, and she had a smile that drew people to her. She was well known as "Gram" at a few of the restaurants that she and her special traveling buddy, Ann, would visit quite regularly- if even just for coffee and ice cream. funeral service for Doris will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at 4 PM at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 135 W. Main St., Howard with her pastor, Rev. Karl Steele, officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Baptist Cemetery, Blanchard. and family will be received at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 PM until the time of the service. contributions may be made to the Orviston Bible Church, 75 Main St., Orviston, PA 16864 or UPMC Homehealth & Hospice, 20 Sheraton Dr., Altoona, PA 16601.
