      Bellefonte, Pennsylvania - Rankin L. Confer, 82, of Bellefonte passed away February 25, 2022. Rankin was born on May 30, 1939 in Bellefonte, the son of the late Harold Confer and Hilda N. Grove Ripka . He was married to Darla E. (Bowersox) Confer, who survives at home. Along with his wife he is survived by his children, Melody (Joe) Musselman of Claysburg, Jason (Serena) Confer of Petersburg, Ashley (Jarrett) Musselman of Claysburg; his brothers, Mark (Polly) Confer of Dauphin, Winston Ripka of Bellefonte and his 6 grandchildren, Alicia Musselman, Riley Confer, Olivia Confer, Reese Confer, Launa Musselman and Crew Musselman. Rankin was a Salesman for Messer – GTS. He was a member of the Nittany Valley Alliance Church where he was a Sunday School Teacher and a Deacon. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family as well as traveling with his family. He served his country in the U. S. Army.
      Family and friends will be received at the Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Inc., on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 1 PM – 3 PM and 5 PM – 7PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home with Lay Speaker, Joe Chicko officiating. Burial will be in Centre Co. Memorial Park, College Twp., Centre Co., Pa. where military honors will be accorded.
