- Ronald E. Weight, 85, of Howard passed away at Mount Nittany Medical Center on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021. Ron was born in Howard on Jan. 10, 1936, the son of the late George E. and E. Geraldine Shope Weight. He married Ruth Ann Shay Weight, who preceded him in death on Feb. 18, 2021. Ron is survived by his son, Timothy E. (Karen) Weight and his daughters, Debra A. (Craig) Duck, Terri L. (Bucky) Quici, Tina W. Meyers; his 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Along with his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by his brothers, Homer Weight and Henry Weight.
Ron served his country in the United States Marines. He was of the Protestant faith. He owned and ran the family farm from 1957-1976. After farming, he worked for the Bellefonte U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier for 25 years, at which time he retired in 2001. He enjoyed woodworking and in his younger years he enjoyed bowling.
Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
