- Funeral services will be held from the Leavy Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday for Melvin O. Schenck, 79, of 219 Clearfield Street, who died Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. K. Ragan, Upper Darby, Pa. Rev. E. Roy Hauser D.D. will officiate and interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mr. Schenck was born at Clearfield Oct. 18, 1875, a son of the late Samuel and Louisa (Weber) Schenck. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and had retired from Harbison-Walker Refractories Company in 1940 as a pattern maker after serving 40 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Fannie J. Schenck; two children, Carl F. Schenck, Bellefonte; Mrs. Dorothy Ragan, Upper Darby; two grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Gray Miller, Clearfield.
Friends may call at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9 o'clock and until time of services tomorrow.
