- M. Austin Betz, 76 of Tempa, Ariz., formerly of Howard, passed away on June 8, 2016. He was born in Lock Haven to the late M. Harold Betz and Ruth Lucas Betz on December 25, 1939.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Sarah Alice Betz and Nancy Ellen Betz. He was the last of his immediate family.
He received his Bachelor's Degree from Lock Haven State Teachers College and a Masters from Penn State University. His Master of Arts from Brown University, his Master of Arts in Math & Statistics from the University of Illinois, which was followed by his Doctorate from the University of Illinois. He retired from Arizona State University in 1999, as a college professor.
Surviving him are his aunt, Lois Betz; and cousins, Barbie Bair and Bonnie Rossman.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Schencks Cemtery in Howard twp., Pa.
