- Mary (June) Lucas Heverly June 27, 1927 January 13, 2017 Mary "June" Lucas Heverly, of Howard, passed away on January 13, 2017, at Susque-View Home in Lock Haven. She was born in Curtin Township to the late Raymond and Bertha Bittner Lucas on June 27, 1927. She was a graduate of Howard High School. On June 4, 1949, she was united in marriage to John W. Heverly, he preceded her on January 2, 2010. In her earlier years she worked at Sylvania in Mill Hall until its closing, and she then worked at and retired from Woolrich in Blanchard. She was an excellent baker and cook. Although she never had a license she loved to get out and about, enjoying dinners out and visiting family members. She was an awesome mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her and was affectionately known to everyone as Nan. June is survived by three sons, Gary (Sharon) of Blanchard, Steven "Pete" (Karen) of Howard, and Roger of Howard, she was grandmother to five grandchildren, Kelly (Jerry) Zedek, Holly(Chris) Meinke, Gary "Manny" (Chasity) Heverly, Michelle (Chris) Ranio and Eric (Toni) Heverly. She was a great-grandmother of eight; Preston and Jordan Wert, Rylee and Avree Zedek, Logan Meinke, Gionna Heverly, and twins Gage and Mallori Heverly. She was a great-great-grand-mother to Silas Lynn Wert. She is also survived by a brother, Orn Lucas of Bellefonte, and two sisters; Geraldine Miller of Spring Mills and Dorothy Gardner of Howard. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin, Dean, and Billie Lucas, and two sisters, Martha Wise and Ruth Heichel. Funeral services will be Monday, January 16, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Kader-Neff Funeral Home,135 W. Main St., Howard. Friends will be received on Sunday the 15th at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be at Schencks Cemetery, Howard.
