    • MERRIMACK, N.H. — William "Bill" C. Lampen, 73, of Merrimack, N.H., passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.
      Bill was born in Oberlin, Ohio, to Charles and Eileen (Lawson) Lampen on Dec. 27, 1940.
      Members of his family include his wife of 51 years, Beatrice (Bourque) Lampen; a daughter and son in-law, Beverly and Anthony Coelho of Merrimack; three sons and a daughter in-law, William Lampen of Lampasas, Texas, Robert and Keri Lampen of Milford, and Charles Lampen of Merrimack; five granddaughters, Stephanie and her husband Daniel Milton of Manchester, Kelly Coelho of Merrimack, Sidney Lampen of Pensacola, Fla., Sabrina and Gillian Lampen of Lampasas, Texas. A sister Sally Lampen and a brother and sister in-law, Charles and Norma Lampen of New Boston; also several brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
      Bill served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962 and was a member of Masonic Lodges of Ohio from 1964 until his death. Bill worked for Bendix Corporation where his responsibilities consisted of space flights and deep space. Bill retired from Wang Laboratories in 1988 and opened Bea's Wash and Dry in Manchester, which he owned for 10 years.
      Bill and his family lived in various places throughout the U.S., including California and Alaska and Bermuda before moving to Merrimack in 1973.
      Bill was active with town activities including Pop Warner, Merrimack High School track, and football. He was an active member of the Senior Citizens Club of Merrimack and a former president.
      There will be no services. Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack, N.H., has been placed in charge of arrangements.
