- Reida Arlene (Woomer) Lyons July 8, 1924September 13, 2018 Relda Arlene (Woomer) Lyons, 94 of Miles-burg, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home. She was born on July 8, 1924 in Marsh Creek, the daughter of the late Floyd T. and Dora (Nyman) Woomer. Relda was a graduate of Howard High School. On June 29, 1942, she married WIlliam D. Lyons, who preceded her in death on February 24, 1999. Relda was a member of the Howard Christian Church in Howard, Pa. She was a homemaker and helped provide for her family by babysitting, taking in ironing, baking pies for a local restaurant, and in later years worked at Woolrich Woolen Mills in Howard. She also was an acomplished seamstress making slipcovers, drapes and bedspreads for Brackbill's and Capparellas in Bellefonte. Surviving are four sons; John W. (Vicky) of Akron, Ohio, Vaughn T., of Altoona; Kelsey C. (Margaret) , of Pleasant Gap; and David E. (Sandra) Lyons of Julian; and a daughter, Anna L. Perry of Lock Haven, two sisters, Elaine Heaton of Howard, and Lois Bowes of Marsh Creek; sisters-in-law, Marietta, Janice, Jean and Patricia Woomer, nine grandchildren; Jay and Darren Lyons, Susan Smith, James Perry, Ashley Jones, Clint Holsinger, Russell, Daniel and Katie Lyons; 9 great-grandchildren; Alyssa and Samuel Lyons, Brennan, Gretchen and Megan Smith, Cody and Madison Jones, Chesney Hook, Zoey Lyons, and a speical little girl, Eva Lyons. In addition to her parents and husband, Relda was preceded in death by a daughter; Denise K. Holsinger, and two sisters; Verda Haas and Adalene Miller and five brothers, Lester, Richard, Lee, Ralph and Darrel. Funeral service will be held at 11;00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at the Howard Christian Church, Walnut Street, Howard with Reld's Pastor Don Crane officiating. Friends and family will be received at the church on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Schencks Cemetery in Howard.
