Hays-Fearon CemeteryObituary - Ronald C. Thompson, 80 of Beech Creek, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Lock Haven Hospital. He was born on August 18, 1931 the son of the late Clair and Dorothy Wetzel Thompson.
He married Virginia Wagner on May 21, 1955, she survives at home.
Ron was a graduate of the Howard High School Class of 1949. He was employed at the Cerro Metal of Bellefonte, retiring after 34 years of service. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church, Blanchard. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Joyce Dowler (Robert) of Latrobe; two sons, Ronald Jr. (Nancy) of Brea, Calif, and David Thompson of Rote; two sisters, Marie Pletcher of Blanchard and Jane Smith of Howard; a brother, Richard Thompson of Howard and five grandchildren, Kristen, Blair, Jason, Adam and Kyle.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 13, 2012 at the Kader-Neff Funeral Home, 135 W. Main Street, Howard, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev.Stan D. Johnson officiating. There will be a public visitation Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Hays-Fearon Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 123 Sparks St., State College, Pa. 16801.
